Blessed In Trusting

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

How well are you trusting God? A life of trust begins with walking in obedience to God’s will and his way for our lives. Trusting has never been a problem for me, it's how I am trusting God for his promises. It's how well I am willing to wait for him to turn my circumstances around, or to show me the path that is best for me. I am confident that many of you find yourselves in this pickle. You set out with what you believe to be a great plan and work diligently at it only to find out you come to a screeching halt. No worries, we all try our greatest attempt to plan our own way. The word of God says, a man can plan his way, but God orders his steps, Proverbs 16:9. That's a simple statement, but many of us struggle with being obedient, or wanting things our way, or simply want everything to happen in our own time. I have been there. I always try to manipulate how I would fix a problem not realizing that fixing it my way will end up being resolved God's way in the long run.

How we trust in God is the difference between acknowledging that his will is wise and our will that can lead us down a path to failure. There are blessings in trusting God with our lives. Trusting in God brings peace, joy, guidance, confidence, grace, favor, an intimate friendship with the Lord, and blessings on our household. That's great news as God is the one who provides all the resources that we need. Trusting him lead to complete access to the storehouse of his favor and blessings.

How should we trust in God? With confident hope that he is working even when we can't see the immediate results of the work he is doing in our lives. Psalm 5:1, give ear to my words oh God and consider my meditation, revealed to me that I can call on God for all my needs and that his power is great to move me through every season of my life. I have learned over the years that doing life his way is best, that it's not my will but his will that will turn everything out for my good.

We can trust in God to bring us through each day whether we are experiencing difficult seasons, or going through an ordinary day. He knows where you are, he knew you before you were formed in your mother's womb, Jeremiah 1:5. God orchestrates every detail of our lives we need only to trust and depend on him. Lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all that you do. Every experience in our lives is designed to draw us closer to him. I look forward each day to spend time in devotion and leaning not on my own understanding. Consider the words of Proverb 3:5-6 and ask yourself, "How am I trusting?"

Encourage your heart to trust God through his powerful word that is given to communicate with him. He is listening, he knows the plans he has for you, Jeremiah 29:11. He want to hear from you, seek him while he may be found, Isaiah 55:6 and walk in the blessings of his grace and peace.

Father, I acknowledge the great joy that I have found in you and give you thanks for the sustaining power of your love that abides with me forever. Give me a heart of trust that I can lean not unto my own understanding but to acknowledge that your plan is wise and it's for my very good in Jesus name amen.
